The Swordsman's Line

The road stretched straight up to here, and then formed a bend, where the bend was a thick growth of woods, and the road went out through these woods. Although it was nearly dusk, the remnants of the June sun still lingered on, making the heat unbearable. There was not a sound of wind, and the curved sky was like a jewel, blue without the slightest color. Sunlight from the west down, shining on the road, shining in the treetops, but not into the woods.
